Authoring support for GALE

The GALE system involves the Generic Adaptation Language and Engine. In the Adaptive Systems course (2ID55) a very rough draft of an initial early prototype of a potential authoring interface for GALE was shown. This interface was developed mainly at the University of Warwick.

The aim of this master project is to design and implement a real authoring interface (better integrated, flawless, future-proof) that enables authors with different skill levels to tap into as much of the GALE functionality as possible when creating adaptive applications such as adaptive courses, adaptive information kiosks, encyclopedia, etc.

This project involves creative thinking as to how to make complex functionality accessible in an intuitive way to non-technical authors, interface design and implementation (in HTML5), and compiler design to translate the structures created by an author into GALE code.

This research will be guided by Paul De Bra, Natalia Stash and David Smits.
